Everything you need to know about using Salah Reminder
Salah Reminder is a Slack app that automatically posts weekly prayer schedules and sends daily reminders for Islamic prayers. It helps you and your team never miss prayer time by integrating prayer schedules directly into your Slack workspace.
Installing is simple and takes less than 30 seconds. Click the "Add to Slack" button on our landing page, authorize the app with your workspace, and you're done. You'll then configure your settings (city, channel, etc.) from the app's Home tab.
You'll need basic Slack workspace permissions to install the app. The app requests only minimal permissions: the ability to post messages to your selected channel and access basic workspace information. Admin approval may be required depending on your workspace settings.
Open the Salah Reminder app in Slack, go to the Home tab, and select your preferred channel from the dropdown. You can change this anytime. Make sure to invite the app bot to that channel using /invite @salah-reminder.
Go to the Salah Reminder app Home tab and look for the "Settings" section. Click "Change City" and search for your city. The app will automatically calculate prayer times based on your geographic coordinates. Changes take effect immediately.
We support multiple Islamic calculation methods including Umm Al-Qura, Muslim World League, Isna, Karachi, Tehran, and Jafari. You can select your preferred method in the Settings tab. Each method may produce slightly different prayer times based on different juristic interpretations.
By default, Salah Reminder sends reminders for Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers Monday through Friday. You can customize which prayers you want to be reminded about and on which days in the Settings tab.
The weekly prayer schedule is posted every Monday at 9:00 AM in your timezone by default. You can change this in Settings to post on a different day or time. You can also manually post the schedule anytime by clicking "Post Schedule Now" in the app Home tab.
Yes! You can set custom reminder times for each prayer. By default, reminders are sent 10 minutes before prayer time, but you can adjust this in the Settings tab. You can also choose to receive reminders at exact prayer time instead.
First, check that the app bot has been invited to your channel with /invite @salah-reminder. Second, verify that your city and timezone are set correctly in the Settings tab. If the app still isn't working, restart the app by leaving it and re-adding it to your workspace.
Prayer times depend on your selected city and calculation method. Try changing your calculation method in Settings, as different methods can produce slightly different times. Also verify your timezone is set correctly. If times are still off, email us at support@katchleads.com with your city and timezone.
